Welcome to the 5th Annual Emerging Arts Leaders Symposium (EALS)! EALS is an annual meeting for young professionals who work in the arts organized, executed, and run by AU Arts Management students. It is an opportunity to discuss the issues, unique or universal, that affect arts organizations with students, peers, and experienced professionals. Past keynote speakers have included Rachel Goslins, Ben Cameron, and Bob Lynch.
Since 1974, the graduate Arts Management program at American University has trained students for careers in nonprofit performing and visual arts organizations, as well as government organizations on the front lines of national and international cultural policy. The goals of this program are to train students for success in the arts management jobs of the future—in a wide range of administrative, managerial and leadership positions—and to help them become effective advocates for the arts.
